Lithgow and District Community Nursery is Turning 30. That’s 30 years of local volunteers propagating local, ethically sourced native plants.

Join us to celebrate this massive occasion with a month of free events highlighting the beauty and diversity of the unique flora and fauna of the Central Tablelands.

Festival of Natives Exhibition

The Lithgow Region is home to some of the most beautiful and unique plants and animals in Australia. Join us at the Gang Gang Gallery Lithgow for this tribute to the unique beauty of the region.

 

This exhibition and art competition on the theme of our stunning natural resources will feature local and internationally renowned artists. Judged by Lucy Culliton renowned Australian landscape painter.

Purple Copper Butterfly

The Central Tablelands is home to the very beautiful and extremely rare Purple Copper Butterfly. This beautiful butterfly is found in just a handful of alpine locations in and around Lithgow. 

 

Join Alan Wray from LLS Central West to learn about this unique butterfly's amazing life cycle, the plants it depends on and its conservation story. Did you know the Central Tablelands around Lithgow has one of the most important populations of Koala in the whole country. Science for Wildlife has been conducting across the region on these amazing  animals with some surprising findings.

 

Join us to learn about these extraordinary marsupials living right in our backyard and what we can do to support their conservation. Then wander next door for a drink and a chat at the Tin Shed. Please book at our eventbrite page for this free catered evening event.
